Barbara Foster

about the artist

Barbara Foster received her MA from San Francisco State University where she currently teaches. Her work juxtaposes modern digital print processes with traditional woodcut. Foster’s subjects explore underwater and desert military test sites, overpowering landscapes, and imposing man-made constructions. Foster was a Fulbright lecturer at the National Taiwan Normal University. Currently she continues to lecture while also directing several fine arts projects including the WesternWedge print atelier. Her works are in various public and private collections including Machida International Print Museum, the Ministry of Flemish Culture in Belgium, and the Santa Barbara Museum of Art.
