This course covers embossing techniques using raised patterns and designs on a plate. Artists can create basic printing plates using various materials such as paper board, scraps, acetate, wood, linoleum, copper and zinc plates, or any other soft, thin materials. Students will learn dry techniques by using hand tools such as agate burnishers, spoons, Slama press balls, etching burnishers, or by using an etching press. The course format combines regular demonstrations and group critics.

Classes include all materials (unless otherwise noted) along with free studio hours to use in the workshop. Class hours expire a month after the last day of the class. You must cancel your registration 2 weeks prior to the start of the class to receive a 90% refund or 100% class credit. No full refunds will be issued after payment due to online processing fees.
