Take your artwork to a sculptural, utilitarian, or fashionable place with this look at screenprinting on textiles. This class will focus on designing your own repeat pattern to print over a length of fabric. Pattern design, making a hand-drawn positive, and exposure of the screen will be covered, as well as printing demonstrations, and time to practice repeat printing with water-based fabric inks.

Students will use small screens with a maximum image size of 7 x 9 inches. Should you prefer to work from a digital bitmapped file, it can be printed at the workshop for use as a positive. Various lightweight fabrics will be available to use, or bring in your own textiles or garments to experiment with.

Some prior experience with the process or with printing on paper can be useful, but not required.

Classes include all materials (unless otherwise noted) along with free studio hours to use in the workshop. Class hours expire a month after the last day of the class. You do not need to pick-up any materials in advance to prepare for this class; once registered, you may come to RBPMW on the day/time of your class. You must cancel your registration 2 weeks prior to the start of the class to receive a 90% refund or 100% class credit. No full refunds will be issued after payment due to online processing fees.
