Part 1: Learning to make your collagraph plate
Part 2: Learning to print your collagraph plate
Collagraph materials (cardboard scraps, string, dry seeds, tin foil, plastic bag, dried leaves etc)
Acrylic medium, mod podge or varnish (as sealant)
Glue (avoid glue stick with heavy materials)
Printmaking paper, handmade paper or any thin paper
Mat board/card board
X-acto knife/scissors
Brushes (for medium/glue and for inking)
Ink options: Akua etching ink, block printing ink, oil paint, acrylic paint. You want to use a tacky, sticky ink rather than a fluid ink. Oil-based inks work great because the drying time is slower but water based inks work as well!
Ink knife
Plexiglass (for inking)
Newsprint or wax paper
Paper towel, rags, or wet wipes
Baren, large spoon or bone holder
Brayer (optional)
Hairdryer (optional)
Glue gun (optional)
